Two South Jersey Men Indicted On Multiple Drug And Gun Charges

Authorities seized 6 pounds of marijuana, 70 wax folds of heroin and three bags of crack cocaine, guns and ammunition, prosecutor says.

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic County Grand Jury recently indicted two South Jersey men on aggravated assault, weapons and drugs charges, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner said.

Azaiah Grisom, 19, was indicted for second-degree aggravated assault, second-degree possession of a semi-automatic handgun for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a handgun without a permit and fourth-degree assault by pointing a firearm in connection with a December 2017 shooting in the city, the prosecutor said.

The shooting happened at 713A Wabash Avenue on Dec. 2017, when Jordan Reaves, 20, was struck by gunfire. Officers from the city police department and detectives from the Prosecutor's Office's Violent Crimes Unit seized six pounds of marijuana, 70 wax folds of heroin and three bags of crack cocaine from the apartment, Tyner said.

Detectives also located controlled dangerous substance packaging materials and a bag with 19 rounds of live ammunition.

Donte Ford, 23, 713A Wabash Avenue, was indicted for second degree possession of marijuana of more than five pounds with the intent to distribute, and third degree possession of cocaine and heroin with the intent to distribute.

Grisom was charged on a warrant and remains in custody. Ford was charged on a summons. The arraignment of both men is pending.

The case was investigated by Detectives Michael Auble and Innocenzo Visceglia of the Atlantic City Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Unit is prosecuting the case.
