The training program and supporting facility enable the state to strengthen its leadership position in offshore wind energy, according to a school press release. Atlantic Cape broke ground on Oct. 28, 2021 on the Wind Training Center as part of a $2.9 million grant from the State of New Jersey aimed at growing the state’s offshore wind industry.
The Wind Training Center provides the GWO Basic Safety (Onshore) Training courses in four modules - working at heights, manual handling, first aid and fire awareness. Training is delivered through a combination of theoretical and practical training.
