• Holiday Drunk Driving Crackdown Kicks Off In NJ (patch.com) — Garfield’s police department is among 125 agencies statewide receiving grant money to step up DWI patrols and checkpoints between Dec. 5 and Jan. 1. The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign targets the holiday spike in impaired-driving crashes, with extra officers on the roads and a clear warning that drunk or drugged drivers will be aggressively stopped and arrested.
