South Jersey Man Charged With Assaulting Officer In Capitol Riot: Feds
The Gloucester County man wrestled a barricade away from police, momentarily allowing protesters to push into the officers, officials said.

SEWELL, NJ - A Gloucester County man has been charged with the attempted insurrection in the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, as well as allegedly assaulting a law enforcement officer during the attempt, federal officials said.
Peter Michael Krill, 54, of Sewell, was charged in a criminal complaint filed in Washington D.C. with two felonies, including assaulting officers and civil disorder, as well as four trespassing and disruption misdemeanors.
Krill was arrested Thursday in Sewell and made his initial appearance in federal court in New Jersey, federal officials said.

A man identified as Krill can be seen in police body-worn camera footage grabbing a barricade to the Capitol building away from officers, briefly allowing several individuals to push into the officers before they were pushed back behind the barricade, according to court documents.
Krill was also seen on surveillance camera footage entering the U.S. Capitol Building from the Upper West Terrace door at around 2:36 p.m. and leaving the U.S. Capitol Building from the east side of the Capitol around an hour later.

Nearly 900 individuals have been arrested in almost all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol, including over 270 individuals charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement and roughly 30 individuals from New Jersey, the Department of Justice said.

Some of these cases have already gone through the court system, while other accused parties await trial.
