South Jersey Man Charged With Murder In Deadly Shooting: Prosecutor

A New Jersey man was charged with murder on Friday in connection with a fatal shooting in a South Jersey city, authorities said.

VINELAND, NJ - A Vineland man was charged with murder on Friday in connection with a fatal shooting in the city, authorities said.

Desmond L Scarbrough-Brown, 28, of N. Fourth Street, was charged with murder (purposely or knowingly), possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon, the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement.

The charges stem from reports of gunshots Tuesday night around 10:21 p.m. near the 400 block of Landis Avenue, the prosecutor’s office said. At the scene, Russell Workman, 35, of Sewell, was found dead from apparent gunshot wounds, the prosecutor’s office said.
