South Jersey Woman Critically Injured In Hit-And-Run, Police Say
A South Jersey woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run Sunday night after attempting to cross a main road, authorities said.
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ - A South Jersey woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run Sunday night after attempting to cross a main road, authorities said.
Around 8:21 p.m., Franklin police responded to the 300 block of Delsea Drive for a pedestrian motor vehicle crash, the Franklin Police Department said in a statement. At the scene, officers found that Mary Mayo, 63, of Newfield, had been struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Delsea Drive.
Mayo was transported to Cooper University Hospital via medevac for “numerous serious injuries,” Franklin police said.

As of Monday afternoon, Mayo was listed as in critical but stable condition, Franklin police said.
“The vehicle that struck Mayo fled south on Delsea Drive toward Vineland, NJ prior to police arrival,” Franklin police said.
