‘Zero Tolerance’ Curfew For Minors To Be Enforced By NJ Town
Up to $1,000 in fines can be incurred by violators of the town's code prohibiting minors from being out past 10 p.m., police said.
WARREN COUNTY - Citing recent police-related incidents involving residents under 18, Phillipsburg police say that a zero-tolerance curfew for kids under 18 will be enforced.
Fines up to $1,000, as well as community service, can be incurred should someone be found of violating the town’s curfew rules, police said. If a parent and child violate the rules together, both are required to perform community service together.
Per town code, minors under 18 cannot be out in public (including in vehicles) between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless accompanied by a parent, guardian or “responsible person of good repute over 18.”

Parents and guardians are also prohibited from allowing children to be unsupervised in public during the nighttime hours “unless reasonable necessity can be shown.”
