$50K Powerball Ticket Sold In Camden County; $1B Jackpot Won In CA
Even though $50K is 0.004 percent of the historically massive Powerball jackpot, 1 lottery player in Camden County can still go home happy.

RUNNEMEDE, NJ — It wasn't the billion-dollar jackpot, but somebody in Camden County earned a substantial prize from Wednesday's Powerball drawing.
A ticket sold at Food Plus (201 West Clements Bridge Rd., Runnemede) generated $50,000 from Wednesday's contest, which produced a $1.08-billion jackpot winner in California. The Camden County ticket earned a third-tier prize by matching four of the five white balls and the Power Ball in the drawing.
The winning numbers were 07, 10, 11, 13 and 24. The Red Power Ball was 24, and the Power Play was 2X.

The Powerball jackpot grew for three straight months, with nobody taking the top prize since an Ohio player won $252.6 million on April 19. Wednesday's drawing marked the third-largest jackpot in Powerball history. The record was a $2.04 billion jackpot won on Nov. 7 — also in California.

To put the recent jackpot size into perspective, a $50,000 ticket is only 0.004 percent of $1.08 billion. Reaching the massive milestone would require daily earnings of $50,000 — higher than New Jersey's median annual income — for more than 59 years.
Granted, many lottery-jackpot winners instead opt for the one-time cash payment, which totaled $551.8 million on Wednesday. And either way, that's before taxes.
The Powerball jackpot reset to $20 million for the next drawing at 10:59 p.m. Saturday.
