Toll Hikes, Cashless Tolling Impacting Haddonfield, Haddon Twp. Drivers In 2026

Tolls will rise shortly after the ball drops on several major highways. And in some cases, not having an E-ZPass will cost you more.

HADDONFIELD, NJ — Not long after the ball drops, tolls will rise. And in some cases, not having an E-ZPass will cost you more.

Tolls are set to increase on several highways that heavily impact travel for Haddonfield and Haddon Township residents. And on the Atlantic City Expressway, drivers will need to leave their cash for tolls in 2025.

Here are some changes coming to the tolls in the New Year.

Cashless Tolling

The Atlantic City Expressway will soon eliminate cash tolling, requiring all drivers to pay through E-ZPass.

Drivers who don't have a valid E-ZPass account will be billed a 100 percent surcharge on tolls. Bills will be mailed out 30 days after their first toll or once they accumulate $50 in fees. Each bill sent out will bring an extra $1 administrative fee and then, if it's not paid within 30 days, a $5 late fee.

Meanwhile, tolls will increase 3 percent for all drivers. Both changes take effect on Jan. 4.

Toll Hikes On Turnpikes

Tolls are set to rise by 3 percent on the New Jersey Turnpike and Garden State Parkway on Jan. 1.

Better Luck At Bridges

Tolls will remain stagnant on the Ben Franklin, Walt Whitman, Commodore Barry and Betsy Ross bridges, according to the Delaware River Port Authority.

Meanwhile, Delaware Memorial Bridge is in the midst of a two-phase toll hike plan. But the rates won't rise until 2027, according to the Delaware River & Bay Authority.

Phase 1 took effect earlier this year, when the DRBA increased the bridge's cash toll rate. During the second phase, the price could go up for all bridge travelers as early as Jan. 1, 2027.
