Haddonfield Celebrates Businesses New And Old This Weekend

HADDONFIELD, NJ — Haddonfield officials will celebrate two borough businesses this weekend: one that just opened and one that will be celebrating a decade of success.

Haddonfield Borough Commissioners will attend a ribbon cutting for Crumb, Haddonfield’s newest sandwich shop located on Lantern Lane by Haddy the dinosaur sculpture, at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Former Denim restaurant owner David Murray and Walter Gouldsbury, owner of The Custard Cart, partnered to open a "crave-worthy" sandwich experience using homemade bread and "mindfully sourced ingredients."

Crumb opened in the fall and already has a loyal following, officials said. It is open Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. It is closed on Mondays. Crumb can be reached at 856-651-7891.

Hooked, Haddonfield’s only yarn sharp, celebrates its 10th anniversary with giveaways and special events on Friday and Saturday at 411 North Haddon Avenue.

The shop, owned by Danique Martin, has a wide selection of yarns and offers classes in Knitting and Crochet.

Martin, a crafter since childhood, has always enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting; she left a career in corporate marketing to turn her passion into a business. After teaching at Woolplay for three years, she purchased the store in 2012, and Hooked was born.

"There is something for everyone at Hooked, and we make sure every customer gets the attention and assistance they deserved," Martin said.

Hooked is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from noon to 6 p.m.; Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. They are closed on Mondays. Hooked can be reached at 856-428-0110.
