Haddonfield Native Performs in 'Oliver!' at Paper Mill Playhouse

Jake Cedar made the cast as a Workhouse Boy in the North Jersey production.

Jake Cedar, a Haddonfield native and grade-school student, has landed a role in a production of the musical Oliver! at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, Essex County.

Cedar is one of the Workhouse Boys in the professionally-staged production of the award-winning musical. Adapted from the novel by Charles Dickens, it's a tale of a young orphan's quest to find home and family in Victorian London. Oliver! was nominated for 10 Tony Awards including Best Musical, and the 1968 film version won the Academy Award for Best Motion Picture. Paper Mill Playhouse will present a special holiday ending for the show, which runs eight times a week through Dec. 29. For more information please visit the Paper Mill Playhouse website.

Cedar has also appeared in productions at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia, Haddonfield Plays & Players and Fiddler on the Roof at the Haddonfield Middle School earlier this year.
