HADDONFIELD, NJ — The nation will celebrate its 249th birthday on the Fourth of July, and residents of Haddonfield and Haddon Township can celebrate with fireworks, festivals and other Fourth of July fun in the area.

Independence Day falls on a Friday this year. But several communities across the region will kick off their celebrations before July 4, while others will keep the festivities going throughout the long weekend.

Typically, both Haddonfield and Haddon Township celebrate with fireworks. But this year's shows were canceled — Haddonfield's due to financial constraints and Haddon Township's because of construction at the high school football stadium.
