Mummers-Inspired Parade Postponed In Camden County Due To Weather
The String Band Parade, which will bring Philadelphia's colorful tradition to South Jersey, was pushed to the fall.

HADDON TOWNSHIP, NJ — The magic of the Philadelphia Mummers celebration will still come to South Jersey, but it's going to take a while.
The String Band Parade — originally set for Saturday in Haddon Township and Haddonfield — was postponed because of the rainy forecast. The event was pushed to Oct. 21.
The Mummers Parade — one of the nation's oldest continuous folk parades — occurs each New Year's Day in Philadelphia, going back to 1901. Camden County officials announced earlier this month that the county would hold its inaugural String Band Parade, with 15 bands slated to perform along the route.
