• Holiday Drunk Driving Crackdown Kicks Off In NJ (patch.com) — Hammonton’s police department is receiving $2,800 as part of New Jersey’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” holiday crackdown, meaning more local patrols and checkpoints through Jan. 1, 2026. The statewide campaign funds 125 departments to target impaired driving during a period when alcohol-related crashes and fatalities typically rise, and officials are urging residents to plan safe rides home.
   

• NJ nursing home owners accused of draining at least $92M as residents suffered in dangerous conditions (nj1015.com) — State investigators say a Hammonton nursing home was dangerously understaffed for years, prompting thousands of police and emergency calls and serious resident harm, while owners allegedly diverted large sums of Medicaid money. The state comptroller now wants nearly $124 million repaid and is urging lawmakers to pass tougher financial transparency rules for nursing homes statewide, which could change oversight of Hammonton’s facility.
