WEEK IN REVIEW: Chinese New Year, Police Search Man At Large and No Snow!
A recap of the week of Feb. 6 to Feb. 11

The week began with a Chinese New Year celebration hosted by the Friends of the Library and ended with a town-wide police search for a man who had run from a stolen vehicle. And it was the first week since Christmas where there was not a drop of ice or snow!
Sunday afternoon members of the community gathered at the Asian Grill in nearby East Rutherford in support of the Friends of the Library’s Chinese New Year fundraiser. Guests were treated to the traditional Chinese lion dance said to bring good luck.

Thursday morning Heights police were joined by other local authorities, state and Bergen County K-9 units in a search for a man who had fled from an accident scene involving a vehicle he allegedly stole the previous day. The search resulted in the man’s arrest and police also took a juvenile female into custody.
