Decisions Expected on Special Events Position, Sidewalk Cafes and Soil Movement
Update on Boulevard Streetscape Project also expected this week.

Decisions could be made by the council on a number of ordinances likely to be up for public hearing this Tuesday.
Several ordinances were on introduction at the last public meeting including one that would affix a salary for a Special Events and Programs Coordinator, one that would require permits for the movement of soil for both large and small projects and another that could allow restaurants with corner properties to offer outdoor dining around the corner.
Council members voted 4 to 2 in favor of which would be held by an existing borough employee in addition to his or her current duties. Council members David Gonzalez and Pamela Link had voted against the introduction.

Details regarding specific duties were not given. The employee would be chosen at a later date based on recommendation from the mayor and council.
Officials are considering adopting an ordinance which would large and small as a way of protecting public safety and health in the borough.

This would now require developers or excavators to seek out a permit from the borough before work could begin. Ministerial permits would be issed by the building department for work involving anything from zero to 400 cubic feet and a major soil permit would be issued for anyting above 400 cubic feet. Major soil permits would be granted by the Planning Board.
As there are limited options for outdoor dining in the borough's central business district, so that restaurants with corner properties could add seating around the corner.
During the work session portion of the meeting Tuesday night, Borough Engineer Ken Job is expected to give an update on the .
This work includes the removal of existing trees followed by the installation of new sidewalks and lighting to the streets of the Boulevard from Franklin up to Hamilton.
