The Hasbrouck Heights school district has three school buses.

Mark Nazarro, board of education member, asked the mayor and council during Tuesday’s work session if borough code would allow the school district to place signs on the . Borough Administrator Mike Kronyak confirmed that borough code had previously been amended to allow for this and Borough Attorney Ralph Chandless confirmed that it is now in the board of education’s hands to decide if they wish to place signs on the field. The athletic field belongs to the board of education, officials confirmed.

Concerns were raised regarding whether signs placed on the orange fence facing Route 17 would be a safety issue however Police Chief Michael Colaneri said he believes there would not be any such issues.

Borough officials told Nazarro they believe this would likely be the best time for the board of education to pursue this and agreed to send him, Dina Messery, business administrator and Dr. Mark Porto, superintendent, copies of the amended code.
