Final Touches Put Into Boulevard Revitalization Work
New benches were put in last week on the Boulevard, in the section that was redone last summer and fall as part of an ongoing project.

Workers were seen out on Boulevard again over this past week as the final details were done which now complete the recent revitalization work which began last summer to a 2-block portion of the area.
New benches have now been put in at the corners of Jefferson, Franklin and Hamilton, which now consider the project more or less completed. To date four blocks of the Boulevard have been revitalized over a two-year period. The project is being funded predominantly by grants the borough has receieved from the Department of Transporation.
Next leg of the project will be revitaliziing the Boulevard from Hamilton to Walter which could begin sometime this year as the plans for the project have been completed, according to Borough Engineer Ken Job.

Last March the borough got the okay from the state to receive funding towards this phase of the project. The borough has since applied for funding for phase six which would revitalize the Borough from Walter to Division but has yet to receive word as to whether it will be granted the funding or not.
The borough plans to revitalize the borough one phase a time provided it receives grants from the state to help fund the work.
