HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — A Hasbrouck Heights "Green Team" with a mission to raise awareness about local environmental issues has received a fiscal sponsorship from the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation that will allow it to operate as a nonprofit project under the foundation's umbrella, a recent news release said.

Fiscal sponsorship is an investment in organizations with a mission that aligns with the foundation's priorities, and provides resources to community leaders as they work to address gaps in local services, the news release said.

"Working together, we build more resilient communities, beautify our neighborhoods, and grow towards our aligned goals of environmental sustainability and resiliency,” Mary Blanusa, the foundation's executive director, and a Hasbrouck Heights resident, said in the release.
