Hasbrouck Heights Police Chief Suspended With Pay: Report
Chief Michael Colaneri was suspended after he allegedly shoved his son-in-law, according to a report.
HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — Borough police Chief Michael Colaneri has been suspended with pay, according to a report by NorthJersey.com.
The indefinite suspension is due to the result of a probable cause hearing related to a simple assault complaint from Lodi last month, according to the report.
Colaneri is at the center of an ongoing investigation related to the simple assault involving Colaneri's son-in-law that occurred in Lodi in late July, according to the report.

The department's patrol division issued a vote of no confidence in Colaneri's leadership abilities at the Aug. 15 council meeting, according to a report on NorthJersey.com.
Mayor John "Jack" DeLorenzo said in a statement that he will "do whatever is necessary to get the department on the right track. I assure you that I have full confidence that the officers will continue to perform their duties in a professional manner, protecting and serving our community, while we work to resolve these issues."
