Heights Businesses Open Their Doors to Help Those Without Power

UPDATE 12 P.M. - Saturday will mark day six of no power, heat and hot water for many Hasbrouck Heights residents as power has yet to be restored in many parts of town.

Some businesses in town have been opening their doors to help their neighbors out during these hard times.

Meadowlands Nissan on Route 17 in Hasbrouck Heights invites residents to come in and use the dealership as a charging station for cell phones, laptop and tablets. The dealership is also offering residents their free WiFi and to visit their customer lounge as a place to warm up, watch some TV and drink some hot coffee. 

Towing assistance may be available through the Nissan North America’s Hurricane Sandy Relief Program. Email nikki@meadowlandsnissan.com for more information. 

Primadonna Hair Salon on the Boulevard at Franklin Avenue has a sign in its window offering free hair washings.

TD Bank manager Vickie Oller tells Patch residents are welcome to come in and charge their cell phones.

A reader reports that the Ivy Inn Restaurant on Terrace Avenue is also allowing residents to come in to charge cell phones.

Also Borough Hall will once again up the senior center on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as a charging center. The public library will be open half day Saturday and residents are welcome to use the free WiFi.
