Borough Hall and the public safety building were without power, running on a generator for nearly a week until power was restored Sunday, Nov. 4. The senior center had been opened as a charging station and warming center for those who remained without power.
Schools were closed the entire first week due to power outages. Mulitiple businesses had to keep their doors closed for several days due to power outages. Once power was restored all eateries or markets had to go through health department inspections before they could reopen.
Some areas of the borough went nearly two weeks without power such as the north end of the town which went about 10 days. By Nov. 8 all power had been restored to the borough with the exception of one building on Terrace Avenue which was restored by Nov. 9, according to Mayor Heck.
