Heights Native Actor Jay Seals Named 'Rising Star'
The actor has appeared on "Mad Men," "Awake" and "Revenge."

Actor Jay Seals, who was born and raised in Hasbrouck Heights, has been chosen as the recipient of the 2013 Garden State Film Festival Robert Pastorelli Rising Star Award.
Seals has appeared on a number of popular TV shows such as AMC's "Mad Men," a role which the actor previously told NorthJersey.com was "groundbreaking" for him. The role led him to NBC's "Awake" and he has also appeared on ABC's "Revenge."
Seals will next be seen in a comedy feature film "My Man is a Loser" starring John Stamos and Michael Rapaport.

"I've had a smile tattooed on my face since finding out I was chosen as the recipient of the Rising Star Award, and I am thrilled to be part of the Robert Pastorelli legacy," said Seals in a statment. "It's a great honor."
The award is given to an actor who is noted as "up and coming." Festival creater Diane Raver named the award after her friend and festival co-founder Robert Pastorelli of "Murphy Brown" fame who passed away in 2004.
"Jay has the combination of everything we look for in choosing a recipient for this award," said Raver. "He's talented, dedicated and full of passion for his craft, plus, it goes without saying that he's a Jersey Boy through and through."
