Heights Promoting Six Police Officers Tuesday

First promotions in the department since 2004.

Hasbrouck Heights will promote six to new ranks within its police department Tuesday night.

Kevin Corbliss and Joseph Rinke will be promoted from sergeant to lieutenant. 

Patrolmen Scott Adamo, Alan Baker, Michael Colaneri, Jr, and Ian Robertson will be promoted to sergeant.

These will be the first promotions to be granted in the police department in nine years.

The department lost four of its higher ranking police officials in the past year due to retirements. Two of those retirements were the department's only 2 captains and currently no one holds the title in the department. As of now there are no plans to promote a Captain.

With these promotions the department rank will consist of 1 chief, four lieutenants and eight sergeants.

An interview process has been underway over the past two months and the council previously adopted a procedure for granting promotions.

Swearing in will be conducted during the 8 p.m. mayor and council meeting Tuesday, June 11 in council chambers.
