22-Year-Old Heights Woman Found Dead in Atlantic City Hotel

Clarissa DelCollo, 22, of Hasbrouck Heights and Vincent Iappelli Jr., 56-year-old of Ringwood, were found dead April 7 in an Atlantic City hotel room containing a variety of illegal narcotics, according to officials from the Atlantic City Police Department. They were found by a housekeeper, reports said. Iappelli was identified as a co-owner of Gabby's Restaurant in Wood-Ridge.

Tick Tock Diner Manager Charged in Murder-for-Hire Plot

The manager of the iconic Tick Tock Diner in Clifton tried to have his uncle killed in an elaborate murder-for-hire plot, state police said. Georgios Spyropoulos, 45, of Clifton was arrested Monday at the Allwood Road eatery. His uncle, Alexandros Sgourdos, 57, of Clifton, who co-owns the diner, was the intended victim, authorities said.

Man Killed in Hasbrouck Heights Hit-and-Run

A man was struck and killed in a hit-and-run on Williams Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on the border of Lodi before 3 a.m. April 6. The . Bergen County Prosecutor's Office and Hasbrouck Heights Police led the investigation. Reports aid the authorities believed a 4-door Honda Accord was involved.

Cops: Woman Mugged, Dragged by Vehicle at Heights Pharmacy

Two men and a woman were being held at Bergen County Jail after allegedly taking part in a mugging in front of Heights Pharmacy and then dragging the victim with their getaway vehicle on April 20, according to Hasbrouck Heights police. 

Unexplained Fire Destroys Homeowners Back Deck

A fire which broke out in the yard of a Division Avenue home destroyed a backyard deck. A young neighbor reported seeing the back deck in flames immediately calling the 911. Firefighters were not aware of what caused the fire and continued to investigate after the fire was extinguished. There was no damage done to the interior of the house.

Hasbrouck Heights Boston Marathon Runner OK

A Hasbrouck Heights man who ran the Boston Marathon Monday is said to be okay following two explosions which erupted at the race finish line, a source close to the family told Patch. George Veliky, 40, of Hasbrouck Heights completed the race in just a little more than 3 hours, about an hour before the first explosion.

Old Sylvester's Demolition Has Begun [VIDEO]

Demolition of the old restaurant building, known in recent years as Sylvester's and before that the Old Homestead, was done this month.  The old building on Terrace Avenue was taken down to make way for four 2-family homes which received approval from the borough's Zoning Board back in January.
