More Power Restored in Heights, Schools Definitely Reopen Monday

PSE&G continues to restore power to areas of Hasbrouck Heights that had gone without for nearly a full week.

Hasbrouck Heights Board of Education has confirmed all schools will reopen Monday.

The middle school/high school regained power Sunday afternoon after being in the dark for more than week. Residents in the areas of Bell, Paterson and Williams also reported Sunday power has returned.

PSE&G crew was seen working at Williams Avenue and Terrace Avenue Sunday afternoon. The street had been shut down all week due to downed power lines.

It's been one week since the area began preparing for the hurricane and several areas in the borough still remain in the dark for six or seven days such as parts of Baldwin, Henry and MacArthur.

Public schools were closed all last week due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

Governor Christie released PSE&G's repair crew plans for the next three days on Saturday which showed that Hasbrouck Heights as a priority area to have power returned by end of day Monday.
