Police Say No Major Traffic Incidents Reported During Ice Storm
Police responded to minor traffic incidents, and one incident involving a fallen tree

Police responded to minor motor vehicle accidents and traffic related calls over the past two days during the ice storm, however authorities stated that overall there were no serious incidents occurring as a result of the weather.
Lt. Thomas Archer, who leads the traffic bureau for the Hasbrouck Heights Police Department, said the roads were kept mostly cleared throughout the two-day storm and there were not a great deal of traffic incidents occurring at all.
Around 1 a.m. on Feb. 2 police responded to a hit-and-run crash at Pasadena and Terrace avenues involving a tractor trailer which fled the scene.
At 4 a.m. Wednesday, police responded to a call that a tree was down in the ramp to 46 east from Terrace Avenue causing a vehicle to be disabled.
Other incidents include a call from a driver Feb. 1 around 9 a.m. reporting another hit-and-run incident involving a truck on route 17 south.
Police also responded Wednesday to two calls regarding icy conditions in road ways and monitored traffic where needed.
