Principal Bolcar Says Goodbye After 10-Plus Years in Heights
Middle School principal leaves district for chief administrator position in Sussex county

After more than 10 years with the district, Middle School Principal Edward Bolcar, Jr. will say goodbye this week as he prepares to start the next chapter in his career.
When asked what he will miss most about Hasbrouck Heights, Bolcar said, "I'll miss the staff and kids. The staff has been good to work with, very supportive and cooperative – all good people."
Bolcar is headed to Sussex County where he will serve as Chief Administrator, a dual role of superintendent and principal of Wallkill Valley Regional High School based in Hamburg, NJ. The school serves students of Hamburg along with the surrounding communities of Hardyston, Franklin and Ogdensburg.

As for his next venture Bolcar said he looks forward to the challenge adding that he's familiar with the district and knows some of the teaching staff from years ago.
Bolcar first came to Hasbrouck Heights on July 1, 2000 where he served as high school vice principal for two years. When the district built the middle school into the high school Bolcar was named its principal where he has been for more than eight years.

Bolcar reflected on some of the accomplishments he's been a part of such as the two science grants that were acquired the past two years and the formation of the National Junior Beta Club honor society. He'll also miss events like the annual Washington, DC trip and the seventh grade camping trip to Warren County.
His 35 year career in education began in 1976 in the Butler school district where he remained for 13 years. He started teaching business-education and later became one of two assistant principals in the district's high school. Later he moved on to Morris Vo-Tech as vice principal where he served for eight years. In 1997 he moved to Bogota school's district where he served as vice principal of junior/senior high school until 2000 when he came to Hasbrouck Heights.
Bolcar lives in Morris County and formerly served as mayor of Boonton for 10 years.
