Hurricane Sandy: What Hasbrouck Heights Needs to Know for Monday

As the area continues to prepare for Hurricane Sandy some important reminders and also a rehashing of some safety tips and resources to follow.

If you haven't done so already, I recommend 'liking' the Hasbrouck Heights Patch Facebook page and follow the Hasbrouck Heights Twitter if you use these social networks to get the most up to the minute information as updates come in.

Also signing up for the Patch breaking news alerts which will be emailed to you directly. If you happen to lose power and therefore lose Internet you can still get information from Patch from our mobile app so you can keep up via your smart phone.

Signing up for Nixle alerts – which sends text messages of alerts in your town directly to your smart phone – is also highly recommended.

Reminder that all schools are closed Monday and Tuesday. Garbage collection was still planned for Monday as of Sunday night. Patch will update readers regarding Tuesday's collection once information is available.
