School District Below Average in Administrative, Faculty Salaries

Compared to the state average of salaries for administrators and faculty members, Hasbrouck Heights district has come below the average for the past three years, according to figures provided by the state Department of Education’s School Report Card.

As the chart below shows the average administrator salary has grown from $113,000 to $117,000 from the 2008-2009 year, dipping slightly down to $112,000 for the 2009-2010 school year. The same pattern occurs in the faculty salary with the average increasing from $60,000 in 2008-2009 up to $65,000 in 2010-2011, with a decrease to $56,000 in the 2009-2010 school year.

The change in the 2009-2010 school year is likely attributed to staff changes or retirements that may have taken place that year.

The chart also shows that both Hasbrouck Heights administrators and faculty members have more than the average amount of years in experience.

Compared to the state average for the number of administrators in a district, Heights comes in far below. As the chart shows, the Heights district, a relatively small district, has just four schools which is well below the state average of 7.5 schools. 

Over the past three years, the number of students per administrator has grown above the stage average and the number of faculty members per administrator falls just below the stage average.
