Test Scores Show Heights High School Ranks High Above Peers
Students showed growth in math and biology.

Hasbrouck Heights High School students ranked high above their peers on state HSPA tests, according to the recent figures released by the State Department of Education.
The School Report Card for the 2011-2012 year shows Hasbrouck Heights High students ranked 100 percent above its peers and ranked 84 percent above the state average. Overall schoolwide performance was high for both language arts and math, 98 percent and 97 percent respectively.
The charts below show the breakdown of how students fared in the test subject matter -language arts and math - from school year 2008-2009 to 2011-2012 and biology for 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.

Compared to scores from the previous year, there was a slight decrease in Heights high school students profiency in the area of language arts. However the percentage of students who scored at the advanced proficiency level increased.
In math more students were proficient in math as opposed to the previous school year while the percentage of students at the advanced proficiency level declined.

Scores showed a significant jump at the advanced proficiency level on the Biology portion of the test jumping from 7 percent up to 55 percent. The percentage of proficiency in Biology also increased from the previous year.
