
Usually the last week of the year can be somewhat quiet as many people are still off enjoying the holiday downtime, however there is still a lot to do in Hasbrouck Heights this week and other things of importance to take note.
Number one – Tuesday, Dec. 28 is the last mayor and council meeting for 2010. These regular public meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. All meetings begin at 8 p.m. and take place in the council chambers. At 7 p.m. this Tuesday there will be a special meeting to address the Terrace Avenue medical facility construction project which is said to be causing hardships for its neighboring residents.
Number two - Also on Dec. 28, the Aviators boys basketball team will participate in the New Milford Holiday Tournament beginning at 2 p.m.

Number three - Residents should take note that will be no trash collection this Friday, Dec. 31 in observance of the New Year's Eve holiday.
Number four – Parents looking for indoor activities to do with their children while school is closed this week should know that the library is hosting an all-day movie marathon event featuring all three Toy Story movies on Tuesday, Dec. 28. The first film begins at 10:30 a.m., the second at 12:30 and the last movie will be screened at 2:30 p.m.

Number five - On New Year's Day the borough will hold its reorganization meeting at 11 a.m. in council chambers where the borough council will begin attend to new business for the coming year. Councilwoman Sonya Buckman and Councilman David Gonzalez will be officially sworn in to their new terms and members will be selected to committees and boards.
