Two Heights Public Retirees Receive More Than $100K Pension

New Jersey Watchdog releases updated list of six-figure pensioners which includes 2 from Hasbrouck Heights.

The list of retired public workers named to New Jersey Watchdog's "$100K Club" - those who collect more than $100,000 in state pension each year - includes two from Hasbrouck Heights.

Retired Hasbrouck Heights school superintendent Joseph Loungo makes $116,294 in state pension and retired Police Captain Robert Kroncke makes $106,923, according to figures released this week by New Jersey Watchdog.

The complete "$100K pension club" list includes 1,474 former public employees in the state. At the top of list are retired school executives around the state - Charles T. Epps, former Jersey City School Superintendent and A. Z. Yamba, former president of Essex County College are at the top making $195,000 in state pension per year.

Among local governments, Paterson fosters the most $100,000-plus pensions with 29 retirees drawing six-figure retirement pay. The city is followed by Hoboken and Paramus, each with 22; Paramus also has four retired school superintendents on that list. Also North Hudson Regional Fire and Rescue with 21; and Newark, Edison Township and Jersey City Fire Department with 19 each, reported New Jersey Watchdog in a statement this week.
