Week Ahead: Dietary Program, Relay for Life Kick-Off and Mayor and Council Meet

A look into the week of Feb. 7

February is in full swing. The groundhog didn’t see his shadow and one can only hope that we won’t see any major accumulations of snow this week. Once again there are many activities taking place in Hasbrouck Heights this week. Here is a rundown of what is to come.

Events

The holistic dietician program “Sugar Blues” will be offered at the Tuesday evening presented by certified holistic practitioner Agata Repice. The event was originally planned for Jan. 11 but was postponed due to inclement weather.

A kick-off celebration will be held Wednesday evening at the for the American Cancer Society event which will be held in the borough for the first time ever this coming June. Team captains can sign up during the kick-off event which begins at 7 p.m.

Schools
On Friday students in grades 4 and 5 will attend the Euclid PTA sweetheart dance. That same evening the PTSA will host a dance for the middle school and high school students.

Meetings

The mayor and council will have its first meeting of the month Tuesday at 8 p.m. in .

The library board of trustees will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. The board of health will also conduct its meeting Wednesday night.

Sports
Some of the high school sports games this week include:

Girls freshmen basketball plays Kearny on Tuesday  and Girls JV and Varsity teams will play Immaculate Conception.

Wednesday boys varsity wrestling team takes on Clifton High School.

On Thursday the girls JV and varsity basketball teams and the boys freshmen, JV and varsity teams all take on Saddle Brook High School.
