HOBOKEN, NJ — Two kids were taken to Hoboken police headquarters on Sunday after other kids were hit by pellets from a gel gun, police said.

Police said that just after 4 p.m. on Sunday, the police responded to ResilienCity Park, in the northwest corner of town, on reports of two children being struck and injured by an item.

Police later determined that they had been struck by pellets from an electric gel blaster toy gun.

Both of the kids with the guns were released to their parents, police said.

"Although these were toys, a gel blaster can cause injuries to others," police told Patch, "and Hoboken Police advise parents and guardians to monitor any toys their children have and use."

Doctors have warned that the guns can injure people's eyes, and also have caused welts on their skin.
