Principal In Bergen County Dies Days After End of School Year
Services have been set for the principal of Bergenfield High School, who died at 59 on Thursday.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A beloved high school principal and father of three died on Thursday, a week after school graduation.
James "Jim" Fasano, the longtime principal of Bergenfield High School, passed away after a seven-year battle with cancer, said his obituary.
Services will be held this Tuesday and Wednesday.

Fasano earned All American Honors at Montclair State University Alumni and was inducted into the MSU Hall of Fame in 1999, his obituary says.
"He later continued his career at his alma-mater Bergenfield High School where he coached, taught, and led students and faculty as the high school principal for 14 years," says his obituary. "Under his leadership BHS received many national accolades for its excellence in education and athletics."

He was fond of saying, “Every day is a great day to be a Bergenfield Bear," the obit says.
Bergenfield High School's Project Graduation group posted on social media, "Our beloved Bergenfield High School principal Mr. Fasano who touched many lives. We still cannot believe your gone and that Class of 2024 is the last you presided over. Let’s come together to honor his memory. Our forever Bear."
