Don't Dump Your Christmas Tree Yet, Says City Of Hoboken

Are you ready to toss out your Christmas tree in Hoboken? You need to wait a bit, the city said, releasing the regulations.

HOBOKEN, NJ — In Hoboken, Christmas tree disposal is allowed on city streets starting next week.

The city said that trees can be placed at the curb on Tuesday and Thursday nights after 7:30 p.m. (9 p.m. for Washington Street).

They will be picked up the next morning by a separate crew than those conducting regular garbage and recycling, the city said.

"Trees must be completely bare for disposal," they noted. That means you must remove lights, ornaments, tinsel, and other decorations.

Don't place Christmas trees in plastic bags, the city said.
