Like Butterflies? Head To 'Monarch Magic' At State Park In Hudson County

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — Just because you're in a densely populated area, doesn't mean there aren't opportunities for nature walks, history hikes, and other outdoor events around you. The local state park is full of 'em.

This Friday, Liberty State Park is hosting "Monarch Magic" at 1 p.m. Come alone or with friends and family. All ages are welcome.

"Come on out to Liberty State Park and get up close and personal with the monarch butterfly!" the state noted. "We’ll learn all about the life cycle, feeding habits, and migration journey of this amazing little insect! There will also be a butterfly craft to make and take home!

Pre-registration is required. You may register up to six participants per reservation.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pets are not permitted on the program unless they are service animals.

They'll meet at the Nature Center located at 275 Freedom Way. Free parking is available in Lot 6, across the street from the center, they say. Dress to be outdoors and wear shoes comfortable for walking. Sunscreen, water, and insect repellent are also recommended.
