Cammarano Associate Michael Schaffer To Be Sentenced Tuesday
Michael Schaffer, former Hudson County Sewage Authority Commissioner, will be sentenced in Newark on Tuesday morning.

Michael Schaffer, former North Hudson Sewerage Authority Commissioner and associate of ex-Hoboken Mayor Peter Cammarano, will be sentenced in Newark Federal Court on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m., according to a spokeswoman from the U.S. Attorney's Office.

When Cammarano was councilman and candidate for the position of mayor, Schaffer accepted three unlawful cash campaign contributions totaling $15,000 from a cooperating witness ("CW"), who purported to be a real estate developer, Fishman's office announced in June, 2010.

. He also admitted that on July 16, 2009, after Cammarano had been elected and sworn in as mayor, he accepted an additional $10,000 illicit cash campaign contribution from the "CW," according to the same U.S. Attorney's press release.
Schaffer was originally supposed to be sentenced in November, 2010, but the date was postponed.
