City Council Recap
A quick overview of some of the things that were decided at Wednesday night's council meeting.

After the first two hours of Wednesday night's meeting , the council went on to discuss the city's regular business.
Below a recap of some of the things that were—and weren't—decided.
- Councilwoman Beth Mason , with the intention of launching an investigation into waste of taxpayer money. The resolution said that mayoral aides Dan Bryan and Juan Melli have been "politicizing" their jobs. After Corporation Counsel Mark Tabakin said that the emails requested—all emails sent and received since Jan. 1, 2010—amounted to more than 35,000, and would cost about $180,000 in legal fees, the resolution was pulled.
- The City council awarded a contract, not to exceed $150,000, to(located on Washington Street) for sporting goods and sporting supplies for the Department of Recreation. According to the resolution, this will be part of the 2011 municipal budget.
- The City Council passed a resolution asking for the release of . A communication from the mayor to the city council stated that the report has been given to Fire Chief Richard Blohm and will be released to the council and the public after his review.
- The city council did not vote on on Wednesday night. The ordinance was tabled. A group of tenant advocates has delivered petitions to city hall to put the issue on the ballot and have a public referendum. The petitions were denied, because there were not enough signatures.
- The council voted to change to "single stream" with the goal of making the city more environmentally friendly. Single stream is supposed to encourage recycling because it allows residents to combine glass and plastic materials into one recycling bin instead of keeping them separate.
- The council approved a shared services contract with the Hoboken Housing Authority to .
