Edison Man Assaulted in Downtown Hoboken

A man suffered a broken nose in an assault early Saturday morning, police said.

A 29-year-old man was assaulted around 1:45 a.m. on Saturday, police said.

The victim, an Edison resident, told police he was downtown on Newark Street — between Washington and Hudson Streets — when a man standing nearby him made a comment.

The victim told police that the altercation turned physical and the alleged assaulter then punched the victim in the face.

When police found the Edison man, he had a bloody and swollen nose, according to the police report. The victim told police he also temporarily lost vision on one of his eyes.

The alleged assaulter wasn't found, and no arrests were made.
