Several Free Festivals Planned In Hoboken And Jersey City This Weekend, Some Postponed

Arts, Earth Day, and food festivals are planned in Hoboken and Jersey City this weekend, but some have been postponed for expected rain.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A slew of free festivals and events are planned in Hoboken and Jersey City this weekend, although a prediction of thunderstorms on Saturday has postponed at least one.

The Sunday events appear to be proceeding as planned. Always double check the times and dates before heading over.

Garden State Art Weekend began Thursday and runs through the weekend, with numerous events at studios in Hoboken, Jersey City, and around the region. Get more information here.

DEP Earth Day Celebration at Liberty State Park, which includes giveaways, art activities, and music for all ages, runs this Saturday, rain or shine, the agency says. The events run 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. See more here.

Hoboken's Mutz Fest, a paid event, celebrates fresh mozzarella from around the area. The event also includes a cannoli eating contest and much more. Find out more here.

Discount Signups For "Hobooken" 5K run through this Sunday. The popular running race, with a Halloween theme, is usually $60 to enter, but through this Sunday at 11:59 p.m. it's $10.25. Proceeds help Hoboken's homeless shelter. The race will start Saturday morning, Oct. 25, at Pier A. Find out more: www.HoBOOken5k.com.

Hoboken Earth Day Celebration & Music Festival — This free event will take place Sunday on the west side of town, from 11 a.m to 4 p.m. The event, run by Main Street Pops and co-sponsored by the Hoboken Business Alliance, is held at Monroe Center Plaza, 770 Jackson Street. Organizers say, "This year's festival will feature an exciting lineup of local bands, delicious food trucks, live animal encounters, upcycled arts and crafts, fitness demonstrations, and a Green Marketplace showcasing eco-friendly vendors."
