'Hoboken Connect' Development At Train Terminal To Have 389 Units, Meeting Coming Up

The new version of the redevelopment plan for the NJ Transit terminal includes a 20-story office tower and residential housing.

HOBOKEN, NJ — LCOR, the real estate investment firm named in named in 2005 to help redevelop 65 acres near the Hoboken Train terminal, joined with NJ Transit and the city of Hoboken last week to announce Hoboken Connect — a new proposal including an office tower and residential units.

After a virtual meeting was held last week, there will be another held by the first week in April, a representative said.

The project, which is currently under review by the city of Hoboken and pending redevelopment agreement approvals next month, will include:

  • A 20-story, 635,000-square-foot office building with ground-floor retail
  • A 389-unit residential property (with 20 percent of the residences deemed affordable housing)
  • New open space
  • Renovation and activation of NJ TRANSIT assets, historic preservation, and investment in the city’s infrastructure, LCOR said.

“Hoboken Connect presents a bold vision to reactivate this vibrant area surrounding the revered Lackawanna terminal in a way that encapsulates the treasured history of the mile-square city while mirroring the thriving businesses, culture, community, innovation and industry,” said Brian Barry, senior vice president at LCOR.
