The Hoboken High School Debate Program recently participated in an international college-level Model United Nations Conference held in Paris, France. PIMUN was founded in 2011 by students from the most prestigious Parisian Universities, under the direction of the CINUP or the Inter- University Committee of the UN in Paris.

Redwing Delegates were the only high school delegation to participate in the conference. Our students engaged with experienced college-level delegates from universities around the world. Students authored resolutions, promoted diplomacy, and even against more experienced, older delegates, emerged as leaders in their committees. During closing ceremonies the efforts of our Hoboken High delegates were acknowledged through committee chair shout outs and by winning six awards.

After the conference, students had the opportunity to explore Parisian culture. They toured monuments, visited the historic catacombs and viewed Paris from the Eiffel Tower.

The Debate Program is grateful to the Hoboken Board of Education and the Hoboken Public Education Foundation for supporting this activity and for making this experience possible for the Hoboken Delegates.
