Police Release Photos In North Jersey Groping Incident That Went Viral On TikTok

Hoboken police released photos of a "person of interest" in a groping incident this month. The victim had released a viral TikTok video.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Police released photos Thursday of a possible suspect in a groping incident in Hoboken earlier this month.

As reported by Hoboken Patch, a woman was walking early on Oct. 5 near the Hoboken/Jersey City border when a man groped her, according to her account on social media. She posted a TikTok video that went viral, warning other women about the incident.

Police said Thursday that the attack was reported to police around 1:50 a.m. Police responded to the 400 block of Newark Street "following reports that a man approached a woman, grabbed her buttocks, and then fled the area," they said.

Security footage obtained by investigators captured the suspect, police say, who was last seen walking south on Willow Avenue toward Newark Street, wearing a striped shirt.
