Hoboken Housing Authority Chairman Jake Stuiver has moved out of Hoboken but is allowed to finish out his term on the seven-member housing board, he said Tuesday.

Stuiver, who has relocated to Pennsylvania, said he will be serving out his term, which ends in May. If a new commissioner isn't immediately chosen by the City Council — the city's governing body that is currently in an eight member deadlock — Stuiver could stay on the board as a hold over.

"As long as it is legal and proper, which is now confirmed to be the case, I am entirely comfortable with doing whatever is required to conduct the duties of my office from my new home, commuting to Hoboken whenever, and however frequently, turns out to be necessary," Stuiver said. "I will do this for as long as necessary."
