Hudson County Man Had More Than 1,000 Child Sex Images On Device: Prosecutors
A Union City man was arrested for having more than 1,000 images of child sex abuse on his device, prosecutors said.
HUDSON COUNTY, NJ — A Union City man was charged Monday for having more than 1,000 images of child sexual abuse on a cellular device, said prosecutors.
Erik Umana, 39, was charged with one count of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child (possession of child sexual abuse material), said the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday.
He was arrested at the Essex County Correctional Facility, where he was already being detained on a separate matter, said prosecutors.

Prosecutors said that in April, the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a referral that Umana was storing child sexual abuse material on a cellular device.
A court-authorized data search turned up more than 1,000 images, prosecutors said.
