Man In Popular Video About Leaving NYC For Hoboken Has New Venture: Helping Pets
A Hoboken resident and real estate agent has started a restaurant show, as well as a program to raise money for animals in need.

HOBOKEN, NJ — Hoboken resident Mike Kotler — a real estate agent who appeared last year in a popular video about New York resident moving to Hoboken — is trying to connect people with Hudson County homes and help animals at the same time.
Kotler, who rescued his kitten Emma from the streets 13 years ago, has found a new way to combine real estate with his animal advocacy.
He recently started a program called Sell Your Home-Save A Pet. Through the program, he partners with local non-profit animal rescues.

Every time he helps someone buy or sell a home, he'll make donations to local rescues, enabling them to provide life-saving care for dogs, cats, and other animals in need.

Starting in 2023, Kotler will donate more than $300 per each home closing, he said. Kotler says he hopes to give rescues more than $50,000 in 2023.
"When I set up my real estate business, I decided that it was going to be mission-driven," said Kotler, who works mostly in Hoboken, Jersey City, and Weehawken, "not just to help my neighbors sell for more and buy for less...but to give back to a cause that's deeply personal to me, and can affect so many lives."
Kotler's also got another venture: He recently started a local restaurant show called "Hoboken and Jersey City Eats." Updates are on Instagram and Facebook.
Kotler has lived in Hoboken for 22 years, after graduating from the University of Delaware. He said he's excited about his new ventures.
"It breaks my heart to see animals in need," Kotler said. "I rescued a kitten who was found on the streets 13 years ago, and I give her an amazing life. Sadly, I'm aware of how many local animals aren't receiving that same level of love and care they deserve."
