Millburn Teen Wins First Place In Congressional Art Contest
A Millburn student has won first place and another has won honorable mention in a regional contest.

MILLBURN, NJ — Of four students who were announced this week as winners of awards in 7th Congressional District Rep. Tom Malinowski's annual art contest, two are from Millburn, including the first place winner.
The winner is Raina Wang of Millburn High School, for her painting "Each One Of Us," depicting a group of people in the street wearing masks. It was inspired by a trip to the Big Apple, she said.
"This piece was a very personal journey for me as I used acrylic to explore the colors and scenery of a picture that was taken of me and my friend during our trip to New York City,” Wang said. “It makes it such an honor that my piece, ‘Each One of Us,’ was chosen to be displayed at our Capitol.”

- Steffi Liu, Ridge High School “Fresh Milk”
- Katherine Zhang, Bridgewater-Raritan High School “American Dream”
“The creativity and talent of student artists in my district is remarkable,” said Malinowski. “Thank you to all our participants for their hard work and congratulations to Raina, Mahima, Steffi, and Katherine on their achievement. I can’t wait to see what you create next.”
Raina Wang’s artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol as well as on Congressman Malinowski's website and social media pages. All honorable mentions will have their artwork displayed in Rep. Malinowski’s District office.
The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from contest winners nationwide.
