Plans For More Supermarkets

Another market is expected to open in the opposite corner of town when the former Chambord space at 38 Jackson St. is redeveloped into the South End Market and Lofts. And plans reportedly have been proposed for a Whole Foods market at 101 Washington St., inside a former bank building.

The city also has a ShopRite and a smaller Acme on the west side of town.

The new market is located at 1425 Washington St.
